Amazing All Around!!!
The Lynyrd Skynyrd concert was a novel experience for me! I went to the Arkansas one because the timing was convenient for me and I'd never been to AR before. I came in from out-of-state, rallying when I heard they were on their farewell tour. Everything I'd hoped it would be, the concert was absolutely amazing!
The 2 opening acts, Black Stone Cherry and Mac Powell & the Family Reunion, really got the crowd pumped up with the right vibe! There was a long dramatic pause between when Black Stone Cherry went off the stage and Lynyrd Skynyrd came on. It was a long dramatic pregnant pause, with a lot of setting up to do with all those instruments.
Finally, the members of Lynyrd Skynyrd slowly came onto the stage one by one, with their entry music playing in the background, "Old Time Rock & Roll" by Bob Seger, and the crowd went wild! I was so excited. Then they played their songs, with their grand finale being Freebird. It went on for about 1.5 hours. I shed some tears during that song, it's always so beautiful.
Lynyrd Skynyrd really has soul to 'em, commemorating the original members who had died in that plane crash in 1977 and bringing their spirits into the concert, as well as blessing up the entire crowds. They did a great job.
It was even more of a beautiful experience because of the venue being an outdoor amphitheater right on the Arkansas River, which is beautiful lit up with colorful lights all around and on the bridges crossing the water, and the water reflections of the lights. It was a really special place to have a concert. I'm so glad that I went to this one! Thank you! I love them so much!!! <3
